Tammy Wynette: Born May 5, 1942 Virginia Wynette Pugh.
Died April 6, 1998. In 1968 "Stand By Your Man" sold 2 million records and became the biggest selling record by a female
singer in country music history. She had 29 top ten country hits between 1967 and 1979. 17 songs reached #1 on the country
music charts including "Divorce". She married George Jones in 1968. They had three #1 hits together. They divorced in 1975.
She died at her Nashville home, of a possible blood clot. Tammy Wynette's resting place is now at Woodlawn Cemetery on
Thompson Lane in Nashville. Also there, are Marty Robbins, Eddie Rabbitt, Johnny Paycheck , Webb Pierce,
J.D. Sumner, Red Foley, and Van Stephenson
