Biography:
The daughter
of country star
Mel Tillis, she
grew up in
Nashville and
made her
debut on the
Grand Ole
Opry at the
age of eight,
singing Tom
Dooley.
Stardom came
to Pam Tillis in
the 1990's,
during the
peak of
country
music's
commercial
success.
After signing to
a new record
label,
Arista Record,
her first single
"Don't Tell Me
What To Do"
reached
number five,
while "Maybe It
Was Memphis"
became her
signature hit
in 1992.
In 2000,
Pam Tillis
joined the
Grand Ole
Opry.
