CELEBRITY PHOTO OF THE MONTH
David Bowie lets me know to back off, after I got a little too close with my
camera on April 13, 1978 at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville.
What a great concert! It was his "Heroes" Tour. I had the best seats in the house, front row, center.

CONCERT REVIEW
B.J. Thomas Pictures & Concert Review by Pat Adams
Going to a B.J. Thomas concert was like going back in time for me, since he performed at my first
ever concert, in the late 1960's along with headliners The Turtles & Lovin Spoonful at the
Nashville Fairgrounds Coliseum, which later burned down. I saw B.J. Thomas perform at the
2nd WMAK Music Festival (early '70s) the Centennial Park bandshell in Nashville.  He and his
band sounded great at this springs Firefighters Concert. Several members of his band
were from Nashville. They started the show off with "I Just Can't Help Believing" and continued
on with hits including "Hooked On A Feeling", "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head", "Rock And
Roll Lullaby", "Mighty Clouds Of Joy", and many more hit songs. He performed his first hit
"I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" and had the crowd singing along with "Hey Won't You Play,
Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song".  I have always been a big B.J. Thomas fan
and last saw him at the Exit In in the '80's. As a kid, I had several of his albums including
"Most Of All" and  "Billy Joe Thomas". Time has been good to B.J. Thomas, as he still sounds
and looks pretty much the same  as past decades. It's always fun to attend the Oldies
Firefighters Concerts, since I am a big oldies music fan.

"1964 The Tribute" Concert Announced
Coming in 2007: The Firefighters let me know that the next Benefit Concert will be the return of
1964 The Tribute, a tribute to the Beatles. I have seen "1964" three times, and will admit, they are good.

Nashville's Municipal Auditorium
It is also nice to return to the Municipal Auditorium the for Firefighters concerts, a place
where I have lots of great memories. My friend, drummer Gary Allen also went. I saw Gary
perform at the Municipal Auditorium with the Charlie Daniels Band in the 1970's.
The auditorium, now seems so small after attending shows at the much bigger Nashville
Arena. Since the opening of Starwood in the '80's, the auditorium has had a minimum
amount of concerts. Hopefully, with the recent closing of Starwood, that will turn back around.
Let's bring more great shows back to the Municipal Auditorium.
