Message : I only became a skynard fan recently at the age of 34. Being a Yankee and northern boy, I can't say
enough about this great band. My heart goes out to those in that plane crash on that fait filled night. They're all
in our memory nearing the anniversary soon to be Oct 20th. I can't imagine how terrifying that must have been
for all of you. Keep truckin and God Bless!
Sincerely, Devon

is with his maker now. The PRODIGAL SON has come home to THE FATHER. He proclaimed his faith like
Danny Joe unashamed of the truth of who his Lord and Saviour is. Let GOD's GRACE give comfort and
strength to all his family and friends in this time of mourning.

Message : I was practicing Sweet Home Alabama with my newly found band members last night when I heard
the news about Billy. We continued the song as we heard the news. I sure hope there are keyboards and
pianos where he is now. I guess God has his plans, slowly, the Lynyrd Skynyrd group is getting back together
again. I guess that before long, we will all play for the king.
As Hughie said, Green Grass and High Tides Forever, my friends. We will love and miss all of you, and your
music, including the music you never got to play. You are all in a Sweeter Home now. Good bye boys, we hope
to hear and see you again......

The future, present, and the past
Fly on Proud Bird, You're Free At Last."
~Charlie Daniels, October 1977~

You'll always be the best!! As Donnie VanZant sang, I swore I saw a freebird fly riden the winds of a southern
sky, We'll all be together someday down on brickyard road. Only one original band member left. As with all of
the Lynyrd Skynyrd members Billy you will be dearly missed.

members of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band: Leon Wilkinson, Gary Rossington, Rickey Medlocke, and Jeff Mcallister.
They were a bunch of cool guys.
We sat in the bar at the hotel they were staying
and visited until it was time for them to load up on there tour bus and head to their next destination. I got an
autographed picture and got to see their tour bus. That was August 27, 1998. It was so cool.

Message : We have seen Skynyrd about 50 times in the last 15 or so years. We have been known to travel to
PA, DE, NJ and VA to see them. One year we saw them three times, in three different states, all in one
weekend. True blue Skynyrd fans!!! In the fall of 2003, for our 25th wedding anniversary, we went backstage,
met the band and had our pictures taken with them. We were heart broken when Leon died, but we are
devastated over the loss of Billy. Skynyrd is comprised of such a great group of people who are genuinely
warm, outgoing and friendly, and it is horrible that so much tragedy has fallen on one group. Our thoughts and
prayers are with Billy's family and the entire Skynyrd circle of family/friends.

Message : I saw them in Norfolk, VA on January 2. Always been a Skynyrd fan but first time seeing them live.
When Billy started playing the keys on that big white grand piano, the spotlight on that gold huge eagle sitting
in front of him, the place went crazy. You sould feel chills up and down your spine. My heart missed a beat
when I heard of his death. I know he's playing FreeBird in heaven right now. What a great guy. He will be sadly
missed but the way he played that song will never be forgotten. Freebird was Billy Powell.

Message : Thanks to everyone for signing our Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Guestbook. We have had page after
page of comments on Billy Powell, since his passing. It just goes to show that Billy Powell was well loved. Lynyrd
Skynyrd fans are the greatest. Out of over 400 pages (and hundreds of artist)we have on the internet, the
Lynyrd Skynyrd pages are the most popular, by far. The tragedies in this band have been unreal. How can a
band have so much bad luck? Original members are getting scarce.
As far as the future of the band, we'll have to see what happens. We will continue to add Skynyrd stuff to these
pages, so ya'll come back now. If anyone has any cool Skynyrd material I can use, send me an email at

Message : Nothing in life is free, but just like the song your spirit is and always will be. Life is to short we must
enjoy the music while we can!! Keeping that small place inside of us alive for those who are gone, and special,
gets us through the rough times. Keep rockin, never forget, and live for them!!:

Their one of my favs. I will always remember their classic country fried rock I used to mellow out too. Those
were the good ole days. They are soley missed. Thanks for the memories.

Message : I was only ten when we lost such treasured talent. However, they will always live on, because every
and any song i play by the boys(and lets not forget the girls in the back)puts me in a different place.I just turn it
up and their music makes anybody really happy! When the kids were younger,(seven, nine, eleven) we'd put
them in the back of our 1972 ss chevelle, and crank "sweet home alabama"!

Message : Hi, my son Benjamin was born in 1999 and I've been playing all sorts of great music from the 70's,
80's, and 90's for him. His favorite song of all time is the great Sweet Home Alabama. He also loves the movie
Cars and the video game, which includes the song White Knuckle Ride. We just want to thank the great Lynyrd
Skynyrd boys for putting together such great music for us to enjoy, which we will do for many years to come.

Message : I've been a fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd all of my life and was only seven years old at the time of the plane
crash. I'm glad that Johnny kept the spark alive to continue his brother's legacy. Despite Powell's death here
recently, I hope that the band doesn't close up shop. They still have plenty to give with Medlocke's insight and
still keep Donnie and Johnny's "Van Zant" going on as well. God Bless Southern Rock 'N Roll

Message : To me Lynyrd Skynyrd is more than a group of musicians. It is a feeling, an attitude, a way of cutting
through the bull. How ironic that just when they where going to break it really big, the crash. Seems so unfair.
Anyone who saw them in Greenville SC should consider themselves blessed. In my life I plan to go to Gillsburg.
I feel I have to pay respects to RVZ and the others. He changed my life.
