Leeann Rimes
Born in Jackson MS and raised in
Garland TX, Leann Rimes has been
singing since the age of 2(!). She holds
three important records in the music
industry, as the current youngest person
to win a Grammy, first multi-platinum
country single and longest-charting song
on the hot hundred. Rimes began her
recording career by cutting All That at the
age of 11 for Norman Petty’s studio in
Clovis NM. Later that year, Dallas DJ Bill
Mack met Rimes and promoted her for a
re-release of  "Blue", a song he had
originally written in the 1960s. The song
was a hit, and at the age of 14, LeAnn
Rimes became the youngest person to
ever win a Grammy: in 1997, she claimed
both Best New Artist and Best Female
Country Vocal Performance. Her album,
Blue, sold more than 8 million copies.

How Do I Live
was originally recorded in
1997 for the soundtrack of the film
Con Air
. Her version was not accepted for the
film but became country’s first certified
multi-platinum single and longest-
charting record at 69 weeks. Her third full-
length studio project, You Light Up My
Life:Inspirational Songs debuted at #1
simultaneously on the Billboard, Top
Country Albums, and Christian Albums
charts. Prior to her 21st birthday, in 2003,
Rimes released a greatest hits album,
simply called LeAnn Rimes Greatest
Hits. More recent accomplishments
include 2005’s This Woman and a 2006
European-released pop record,
Whenever We Wanna.
Her August 2007-release country album
will be called Family and a duet with rock
artists Bon Jovi, “Until We’re Not
Strangers”, will appear on their
forthcoming album.
