Kubler
Blackmint Distillery &
Altamar Brands, LLC
came together to bring the
first authentic Swiss Absinthe
to the United States market in nearly
100 years. The brand, Kubler, is
produced in Motiers , Switzerland and
the Kubler family produced absinthe
in Val-de-Travers, beginning in 1875.
Absinthe was invented in 1740 by a
Swiss doctor for his patients, and
was quickly adopted as a
replacement for wine that was in
extremely short supply. Cheap
imitations came on the market, the
product became a health hazard to its
consumers, and both the Swiss and
US governments ultimately banned it.
The Swiss government overturned the
ban in 2004 and Yves Kubler went
back into business producing the
original formula. Kubler and his
Export Director, Peter Karl, set their
sights on the United States , and
convinced the US government to
allow the legal sale of authentic
Kubler Absinthe in this country.
“Swiss Absinthe Superieure Kubler”
is liquor distilled with herbs grown in
the Val-de-Travers. Artemisia
Absinthium (more commonly know as
wormwood) is the primary ingredient
in a formula that also includes
coriander, mint, anise and fennel
among other herbs and botanicals.
Kubler will be sold at 53% ABV in the
US at $49.99 per one litre.

Steve Cropper
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Cropper's fame was not limited to the United States.
The Beatles favored Cropper's playing and his production on Otis Redding records. In
fact, John Lennon and Paul McCartney made tentative plans to record in Memphis to
work with the guitarist. The Beatles Tennessee Connections Brian Epstein canceled
the session, citing security problems.

I was a writer for the Kaleidoscope Newspaper in the early 1970's, covering music and
concert events. Unfortunately, most of my issues of the Kaleidoscope were lost over the
years. The Kaleidoscope was a Junior Achievement, Nashville music newspaper that
was distributed to high schools throughout Nashville, and passed out free to students.
In high school,I also worked as a reporter for the popular radio station 1510 WLAC-AM,
my first experience in reporting Nashville Area Concerts and other local events.
I called in reports from the set of the Hee Haw TV show and other famous places.

RINGO STARR ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL
NORTH AMERICAN CITIES AND ON SALE DATES
FOR HIS 10TH 'RINGO STARR & HIS ALL STARRS' TOUR
Starr's 10th All Starr Band Features Colin Hay,
Billy Squier, Hamish Stuart, Edgar Winter and Gary Wright
Ringo Starr announces the addition of several cities to his North American
'Ringo Starr & His All Starrs' tour, as well as on sale dates for the majority of the
shows. This summer's outing, Starr's 10th All Starr-studded tour, will include
returning All Starrs (in alphabetical order): Colin Hay, Billy Squier, Hamish Stuart,
and Edgar Winter, and first timers Gary Wright and Gregg Bissonette.
The All Starr tour will bring its newest chart-topping lineup to 31 cities in the U.S.
and Canada, including New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Nashville.
No other single stage produces the hits like Ringo's All Starrs, each singularly
accomplished in their own right. All of the All Starr artists complement Starr's
musical style and share his message of peace and love. As Ringo said in a recent
interview, "My live shows are a peace-and-love fest. That's my main promotion,
really." Starr's latest album, Liverpool 8, was released on CD, digitally and on
USB wristband on January 15 by Capitol/EMI. His most personal release in years,
Liverpool 8's songs are a reflective journey through Ringo's storied life and career
and feature some of his greatest songwriting to date. Co-produced and co-written
with Dave Stewart, Liverpool 8's resounding message of peace and love will
continue to resonate with All Starr audiences across the country when Ringo
hits the road this summer for his first tour since 2006.
Since 1989, Ringo Starr's All Starr tours have rocked sold out venues with great
musicians who share Starr's love of performing.
All of the All Starrs lend their most popular songs to Ringo's already impressive
hit list which includes such classics as "With a Little Help From My Friends,"
"Yellow Submarine," "Photograph" and "It Don't Come Easy."
