Tennessee Flood Relief Concerts
Garth Brooks is back! Garth Brooks is performing nine concerts with
his band in December 2010, giving all proceeds to Nashville flood
relief from the May 2010 Nashville floods that caused much damage
to the Nashville area

These concerts set a record for the most tickets sold in a single day in Tennessee.
continues to break concert records and cause a fan frenzy, even after having been
temporarily retired from the road for more than a decade. The entertainer sold more
than 140,000 tickets on Saturday, November 6, and what started as one benefit concert
to help flood victims exploded into nine sold-out shows at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.
The day's ticket sales set a record for Tennessee, breaking a concert record previously
held by Michael Jackson at Knoxville's Neyland Stadium with 72,000 tickets.

"A very special thanks to country radio, the great people at Ticketmaster and everyone
who helped with the on-sale and most of all the people who showed up to get tickets,"
says Garth. "It's great to be a part of the healing."

To truly show his appreciation to those folks at Ticketmaster dealing with the flood
of phone calls, Garth sent the workers pizza to thank them for all of their hard work.

The legendary performer will play nine full concerts in six days: December 16, 17, 19, 20,
21 and 22, with two shows on the 16th, 21st and 22nd. More than $3.5 million was raised
from ticket sales at $25 per ticket, with all proceeds going to The Community Foundation
of Middle Tennessee to continue to assist victims who were impacted by May's tragic
floods, which caused more than $2 billion in damages in Nashville alone.

The benefit concerts, which will include Garth's wife, Trisha Yearwood, his full band
and some surprise guests, are his only arena shows of the year, and it marks his
return to the Nashville area since 1998.

Garth Brooks announced back in October that he would be performing a full concert in Nashville with his band. The proceeds would go to
huge demand for tickets. It actually set a one day record for the most tickets sold in Tennessee.
We went to the first show of the last night on December 22nd. The Bridgestone Arena was packed full of Garth Brooks fans. As the band
came out on stage, Garth came up through the floor from under the stage. The show began! Garth performed many of his hit songs
including
Callin' Baton Rouge,  Shameless, Unanswered Prayers, The River, Rodeo, Two Pina Coladas, That Summer, The
Dance
and many more of his hits. My favorites were The Thunder Rolls and Friends In Low Places. Steve Wariner came out and did a
song or two with Garth. Trisha Yearwood came out and did a few of her hits including
She's In Love With The Boy and How Do I Live.
Garth also took requests from the crowd, playing solo on an acoustic guitar.
After reading a sign of a fan in the audience, Garth brought her down to the stage and gave her his guitar. The show had lots of energy,
great sound great lighting and a very colorful stage. The band was tight during this show, which lasted about 2 1/2 hours. Garth introduced
the band saying that many of the members have been with him since early on. He told the crowd that he is giving back to Nashville through
these benefit concerts.
The concert was great. We really enjoyed ourselves. After the show, we visited Broadway, which was closed off to traffic due to the amount
of fans. These nine concerts raised millions of dollars for Nashville flood relief and pumped even more millions into the Nashville economy.
THANKS GARTH for a wonderful night of entertainment and for helping out Music City USA.
