| Conway Twitty: Born September 1, 1933 Harold Lloyd Jenkins. Died June 5, 1993. Conway Twitty had more #1 albums than Elvis and The Beatles put together. He had 55 #1 singles, more than Elvis, The Beatles, or Frank Sinatra. He had both rock & roll and country hits which included his first #1, "It's Only Make Believe" and later on "Hello Darlin". He developed Twitty City in Hendersonville Tennessee, which was a tourist spot that included his home (pictures shown above after his death in 1993) Also shown are his tour bus and a memorial. In 1993, he died (out of state) returning to his home, Twitty City in Hendersonville Tennessee |
